Sunset Junction
To make up for the long absence I'm trying to post more often. This is a bg from an episode that we just finished and delivered yesterday called "Bus the Two of Us." I really like the mood this shot evokes.
Beautiful! I always look forward to each and every new episode, but I'm looking forward to THIS one in particular, having read the synopsis on Cartoon Network's site!
I have to agree that I love the mood of this scene. That silouette time of twilight always fills me with a child-like nostalgia of monsters in the shadows-- the fear they were there, silently watching me; the utter horror of the idea of a world where they weren't. But the scenery: overpasses, billboards, short cheap downtown buildings-- it feels very down to earth. A great mix... Can't wait to see the episode and find out the actual context.
The backgrounds are my favorite thing about the show. Especially within the house. It reminds me of the background stylings of classic disney films, like SLeeping Beauty outside landscape backgrounds. Gorgeous work.
Wilt slams Eduardo's bank on to the floor. Wilt fibs to cover for Bloo and Mac. Wilt pushes that badger down the stairs. Wow. The duplicity. This does a great job of filling out the Friends' conscience and making him more dimensional. Best. Series. Ever.

It's a posting bonanza!!! Rock on!
And it is a very nice shot, nice warm colors that give it alot of atmosphere. The placement of dark space also helps the composition alot.

I can't wait. I wish new episodes didn't take so long to get to Teletoon. I love being Canadian excuse how crummy our entertainment industry is.
But yes, I love the quiet sentimentality of this shot.

Best part was watching Poor Wilt try to cover up the fact that Bloo took the bus.
And the bit with Eduardo was hilarious.
