Very appealing drawings, you can kind of see that sort of Cookie Monster meets Luchador meets "Where the Wild things are" going on in Ed's design. Needless to say I love it.
You know... I always thought Ed looked like something from Ed Emberly's drawing books, due to his being made up of simple shapes yet looking kind of complex at the same time...
Or maybe it's just cause I cut my art tooth on Ed Emberly...
Thank you so much for opening this blog, and for these sketches of Eduardo, my personal favourite. I really love all of your work - originality, energy, personnality, and nonsense. It is just great. Long life to you!
I'm sure I'm not the first to inquire but... do you think you could add an RSS feed for this blog? I think a lot of people would be happy to be sure to read all your posts!
The thing I love about this character, is that his oper body doesnt seem so "flash" friendly, but the way you guys animate it, makes me thing twice about how flash design isnt as limited!
Hey sir, Really digging these development sketches of Eduardo. He's by far one of my favorite imaginary friends. The skull belt is a nice touch...very rock n roll!
Been a big fan of the show ever since the premiere episode! When you watch it, your not aware that it's done in flash since the animation is so fluid. You have by far one of the most talented artists on board.
I plugged your blog on my blog http://monster-shindig.blogspot.com
This blog is really a very nice ideaaaaaaaa! Foster is a wonderfull show, thanks a lot for sharing. We can see this show only on Cartoon Network in France; an d I HAVE Cartoon Network! HOuhou!!! You're so lucky guys, nice job!
Hello--I thought Cartoon Network ran a segment on how to draw Eduardo and included what his pants are made of, but I missed it. I can't seem to find this information on the web, so I thought I would ask here. I am trying to make an Eduardo for Christmas and would like to use the right material for his pants.

The one with the big non-hairy tatooed arm kinda frightens me, but his other designs remind me of Sesame Street muppets.
Think we could see some Frankie (or even Berry and Mr.Herrmian)sketches anytime soon?

I always thought Edwardo was from the book. "Where the Wild Things Are" or at least influence was drawn from there...

I love Eduardo to bits! I'm happy with the original design but I like the one running beside Bloo with the pillow and the bulky one is cool.

john k says all cartoon network show characters have circle eyes.. and it seems to be true (except for maybe samurai jack)...
my question: does the network ask for eyes to be circles or is that just how craig likes it?

Duchess doesn't have circular eyes from what I've seen.

I also love Eduardo: he's my very favorite character. The episode with him & all the puppies kills me.
Great job with the show, people.
